This presentation is a creative pitch and does not represent any official collaboration with the Lilongwe Institute of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery (LION) of Malawi and should not be used or recreated for professional nor commercial purposes. I have no affiliations with the organization, and all materials used in this pitch have been sourced from open, publicly available sources on the internet. Proper accreditation has been given where applicable.
This is the branding I’ve applied throughout the entire pitch, with colors developed from those already on your website and existing media materials I could find. These can be adjusted or refined to align with any existing brand guidelines, if available. I’ve added a submark and icon so they are suitable for multiple placements. Additionally, I’ve adjusted the logo colors to ensure proper visibility on different backgrounds.
In my previous role i was also a social Media manager for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, I gained valuable insights into setting up pages for success. Apart from sharing pictures and videos, I find it great to include infographics in the content mix. Infographics are particularly effective for delivering quick, important information in a clear and visually appealing way, allowing key messages to be easily understood at a glance.
I’ve developed sample posts that highlight LION’s impact, progress, blog articles, holiday messages, hiring opportunities, and staff commentaries. These diverse formats give a glimpse into how each post type can be framed to maintain engagement and communicate key messages.
Showcasing Impact/success stories (Stories from LION)

I designed various materials for different parts of the hospital, like warning signs, map directories, wall murals, notices, and informational flyers. To show that my design skills aren't just for small content, but also for bigger projects that improve the hospital’s look and communication.

Patient room/Ward signs
Wall murals/Directional signs
Please note, these suggestions are based on my assumptions of what you may aim to highlight. With direct input, I can tailor the website more accurately to your specific needs.

The Homepage
Before
Rationale for Enhancements.
The original homepage Large blocks of text dominated the page, which typically discourages visitors from staying, reading, and exploring more of the site. it addiotnally takes away from the visual appeal of the page.
I introduced a sticky top bar navigation, giving users quick access to essential information like contact details, search, and forum links that remain visible while scrolling.
The homepage previously did not offer insight into the specific services LION offers which may be the main reason why people may visit the site. To address this, I highlighted key services with interactive buttons linking to dedicated service pages.
I also added a section about LION’s identity and a news section to keep visitors informed about their latest activities.
For improved visual appeal, I broke up the text into manageable sections and paired them with images, making the content easier to digest and more engaging.
Each homepage section is now designed to encourage further exploration from visitors, guiding users to dive deeper into LION’s Identity, facilities and services.
The 'Find a Doctor Page'
Rationale for Page Development
The 'Find a doctor page' is considered essential for healthcare websites, since it offers visitors and potential patient's insights into both the type of care/services they can get and the medical professionals who deliver them.
The main aim is for It to build trust by showcasing the expertise behind the care. The amount of information needed to be displayed is flexible, but here I’ve highlighted key details you might want to include, such as specializations and professional background.
For this page I used a search function, allowing users to easily find doctors based on name, specialty, or condition.
The News/Blog Page
Rationale for Enhancement
The original layout lacked structure, and while it was nice that visitors didn’t have to navigate to another page to read articles, I felt like the format could have been Improved on.
There was no categorization, which affected the readability, making the content feel like one large block of text. To address this:
I categorized the news into clear sections and added a search function for easy access. This allows you to control what content appears first on the page, making it ideal for highlighting key articles, such as when sharing blogs.
Additionally, this structure lets you display a large number of articles without the need for Visitors continuous scrolling, improving both usability and accessibility.
I also added the 'Our Patients Say it Best' section and deliberately put it at the top so it could as social-proof of how good your services and facilities are.
The About us Page
Rationale for Enhancement
The original About Us Page had the same issue as others, large blocks of text which took away from the pages visual appeal and navigability. I wanted this page to serve as a complete summary of the organization, highlighting important information while also guiding visitors to explore the About Us subpages.
To address this:
I broke the text into digestible sections, adding relevant images that described the content they accompanied. I included a navigation tab to direct visitors to subpages, making it easier to explore more detailed information about your institution.
Noticing that the homepage showcased your team and facilities, I incorporated those visuals into the About Us page, along with a "Tour Our Facilities" section using a picture carousel so visitors can scroll through the images you want to highlight.
Instead of merely mentioning the private services you offer, I gave them their own dedicated section, with detailed descriptions of the type of care provided, drawing more attention to this offering.
This is a mock project I developed for a Monkeypox awareness campaign as a way of demonstrating my Crisis/Epidemic communication skills. It has a comprehensive communication campaign and the necessary communication materials to support it.
